Innisfree Products I'm Currently Enjoying (Oily & Acne Prone Skin Edition)

By Bhawna D. - May 08, 2020

A couple of days ago, when I was working on the Mini Thailand Skincare Haul, I realized that I have a lot of new products that I purchased and incorporated into my skincare routine recently. But till date, they haven't received their share of appreciation from my end ๐Ÿ˜‚ Some of these products are from the brand Innisfree. [Please Note: This blog post was written before the lockdown was imposed in India.]

Launched in the year 2002, Innisfree is a South Korean brand that distributes its products across countries, such as Hong Kong, Japan, China, Taiwan, India, the United States, Thailand, Vietnam and Australia. In India, their products are available offline as well as online on e-commerce websites like Amazon, Myntra and Nykaa. In case you don't know, their products are generally not available on discounted price. Therefore, whenever you want to purchase their products, make sure to do your R&D, visit offline stores to try out their testers and finally pick their products from wherever you are comfortable.

For several years, I’ve personally categorized this brand as ‘high-end’ but when I actually compared their prices with other much-hyped Korean brands, these are relatively affordable. (Edit: I think over-the-counter products also have some gems but consult your dermatologist first)

This realization, along with my acne-prone skin, landed me up in the brand's store on a one fine weekend. A conversation that I recently had with one of my friends, which summed up as ‘go enjoy your present and feel free to splurge on yourself’, is also responsible with this action of mine ๐Ÿ˜‚ So, one thing led to another and the last thing I remember is a happy and hopeful me for a FUTURE BETTER SKIN.

Without more dilly-dallying, let’s begin with today’s blog post on Innisfree India. Shall we? ๐Ÿ˜Š

Innisfree Bija Trouble Skin (Toner)

I’m not really sure when but probably last year, Innisfree decided to promote its
Jeju Orchid range, owing to which they had a bloggers meet in the DLF Mall of India. During that meet, I along with one of my co-blogger friends was introduced to a lot of their products. Based on my skin concerns, I inquired what products their product portfolio has to offer for a person with an acne-prone skin type. Since then, I was very well acquainted with the products that remained in my wish list for really long. But soon they made their way to my skincare counter! Innisfree Bija Trouble Skin has bija seed oil from Jeju Island and salicylic acid that assists in eradicating build-up on the skin’s surface and removing bacteria as well as dead skin cells.

I’ve been trying this for around 2 months and I’m almost about to empty the bottle. I was suggested to use this with a cotton pad but I keep switching the way how I use it. However, I generally pour some of the toner liquid in my hands and gently pat it onto my skin because it helps in ensuring that I do not waste the product. I’ve been really enjoying using this toner and I top it off with different serums depending on the requirement of the skin.

Please note: This product contains alcohol as its second ingredient after water. If you are trying to refrain yourself from using alcohol-based toners or combining it with glycolic acid or AHAs, then avoid picking this up. Although I did enjoy using this, I may not get it again thanks to their ingredient list.

Company’s Claims About the Product:
๐Ÿ€ Tightens Pores
๐Ÿ€ Removes Sebum
๐Ÿ€ Enhances Skin Tone
๐Ÿ€ Offers Deep Cleansing
๐Ÿ€ Provides Cooling Effects
๐Ÿ€ Exfoliates Dead Skin Cells

My Experience:
I’ve seen a lot of co-bloggers both rave about this product and call it mediocre as well. If you ask me, in terms of results, it does provide results which any other face mask would offer, i.e. cooling sensation, refreshing feel and oil-free skin. It also helps in calming acne and slightly reducing their size. But what I love about this face pack is that it gives your skin a beautiful canvas for applying night time skincare products. Although it’s a clay mask, it doesn’t leave your skin parched of hydration but of course, you can’t and you shouldn’t skip on a serum/moisturizer afterwards. Since I have been applying this mask, I’ve actually seen apparent on my skin, which is why it has become one of my favourites in a really short time! ๐Ÿ˜Š
