December 2019 Fab Bag - The Merry Maker Edition | 10% off Coupon Code | Detailed Unboxing and Review

fab bag december 2019
Me (to myself):
It’s December already and the year 2019 is almost gone. ๐Ÿค” I’ve been ill since a lot of days and complete recovery may require special pampering. So this year, I’d be my own not-a-secret santa! ๐ŸŽ… ๐ŸŽ„

Knock Knock.

Me (towards the door):
Who’s there?”

Courier Guy:
“Your fab bag parcel madam”.

Me: ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Hi Guys,
Welcome to the Glistening Lane ✨

Hope you guys are having a great time! ๐Ÿ˜Š
On 04/12/2019, I received a text message from Blue Dart that my fab bag order has been dispatched and it reached my doorstep the next day itself. Earlier, the courier used to reach me on the first day of the month but now it arrives on my doorstep when almost the first week of the month is over. ๐Ÿ˜ž This gives me very little time to curate content, take product pictures, publish the unboxing post and share it on social media platforms. However, I appreciate that notifications through text messages are being received to keep the subscriber update about their order.

Anyways, now that the December 2019 Fab Bag is here, let me bring my kitchen knife and we shall begin with the unboxing. (Yes, I use scissors and a kitchen knife to unbox my parcels quickly and neatly. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚)

Makeup Selection Process:
In the “Merry Maker November Fab Bag”, there will be a combination of 1 Makeup & 3 Beauty Essentials. Also, please note that the main makeup choice will be available on all subscription plans! The makeup choices that were offered to me in the makeup selection email were: SUGAR Born to Wing Gel Eyeliner, SUGAR Click Me Up Velvet Lipstick and SUGAR Magic Wand Waterproof Concealer.
(Stay tuned if you wanna know what I picked up amongst the three ๐Ÿงก)

Exclusive 10% off Coupon Code:
Exclusive Savings for Our Readers - 10% off Coupon Code: The team of Fab Bag was kind enough to offer a special coupon code for the readers of our blog. Please feel free to avail the discount by using the coupon code - BHAWNA10 while subscribing to the 3, 6 or 12-month plan. (In case you guys are wondering, I’m not generating any commission out of this coupon code)

The Fab Bag Pouch:
Silver, maroon, green and wine are the colors that you’d be seeing all around you this season. If you’d ask me why, “Girl CHRISTMAS is the reason!!” (Rhyme not intended ๐Ÿ™ˆ)
Keeping up with the theme of the biggest festival this month, the team of fab bag has curated a soft-to-touch, fake fur red pouch with the usual brand logo and a zip closure. The fur seems to have shed its hair when it was in the manufacturing unit. However, it hasn’t shed since I have it in my hand. To be honest, I might use it as my flatlay props in the future because it reminds me of warm, cosy pullovers. ๐Ÿ˜

Products Inside:

Sugar Magic Wand Waterproof Concealer
SUGAR Magic Wand Waterproof Concealer - 12 Con Leche [Full Size: INR 799]
Apart from skincare, if there’s one thing that I love experimenting with, then it has to be cooking makeup! (I can cook only a couple of things like maggi, pulao, coffee, tea, sandwiches and chapattis but I would never dare to cook on a regular basis.) If you don’t believe that I love makeup, then I’m assuming you’re not following me on Instagram. I post Indian makeup looks and everything that I personally like there.

I love the fact that most of the time makeup options are offered in fab bag. As told earlier, makeup options that were offered in the makeup selection email were: SUGAR Born to Wing Gel Eyeliner, SUGAR Click Me Up Velvet Lipstick and SUGAR Magic Wand Waterproof Concealer. I went ahead with the concealer since I have a lot of the SUGAR lipsticks and even the Wing Gel Eyeliner in blue colour. Also, I have two concealers at the moment, and I feel both of them are lighter for my skin tone and can only be used for highlighting purposes. The shade that I picked up is 12 Con Leche which has a slightly yellowish undertone. This particular shade will suit perfectly well along with the SUGAR Ace of Face Foundation Stick, which I’m loving currently.

Final verdict: This has to be the star product for this month’s fab bag! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Kronokare Body Butter Packaging
Kronokare Body Butter [Full Size: INR 195]
#DelhiKiSardi (Winter of Delhi) is currently taking a toll on my skin, hair and overall health. My hands and legs are becoming super dry; my scalp is becoming flaky and cold isn’t willing to leave my body. Except for the last part, hydration is what I need for treating my scalp as well as skin. My hands remain so parched throughout winters that body lotions seem to work only for an hour or two. This is why I am really happy about getting a body butter from the well-known brand - Kronokare. The texture of the product is amazing! It is creamy yet not so heavy and it spreads really well without the need of tugging the skin. Also, the product gets absorbed into the skin in no time and it leaves the skin quite supple and soft to touch.

Votre Advance Gel Exfoliance
Votre Advance Gel Exfoliance [INR 290 for 30 grams]
If you have acne-prone skin, you might not have realized it until now but the real solution for treating acne is to deal with pores. Generally, people with oily skin have large pores and they have more chances of getting clogged. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that exfoliation as well as toning of the skin is paid extra attention. This is one of the reasons why I recently included the Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Illuminating Daily Scrub in my skincare routine, especially on days when I have applied makeup. Although it is marketed as a scrub, I personally use it as a cleanser since it foams well and has only minute granules that do not irritate my acne. If you want a detailed review on the product or a full skincare routine for this season, then drop me a comment in the comments box below.

Owing to my skin type, I personally prefer chemical scrubs instead of granule ones. I’m looking forward to using the Votre Advance Gel Exfoliance as it comprises AHA, which helps in brightening and exfoliating the skin, treating acne, minimizing discolouration, promoting collagen production and reducing the appearance of fine lines.

NIK Cleansing Water - Aloe Vera
NIK Cleansing Water - Aloe Vera [Full Size: INR 450]
 I love makeup (period)
And I hate people telling me “Don’t apply makeup on your face for XYZ reason.”

I said it before and I’d reiterate it today as well that makeup is a personal choice and I don’t think there’s anything wrong in it morally or otherwise. It’s also ironical when I see girls who do apply makeup and make statements like “Oh, I don’t apply makeup”. And that would be accompanied with a fake smile having a fall coloured lipstick on!! I mean it was okay when you called egg a vegetarian food but not categorizing lipstick as a makeup product would get the cosmetic industry into huge losses! So please girls, stop right now because we’re battling with a lot of judgements from the conventional society on a regular basis. (Sorry for digression)

If you love makeup, you gotta include amazing products that help you in removing makeup. The best thing to do is adopt a double cleansing method and your skin will thank you in the years to come. The brand NIK (Nikita) claims that their Cleansing Water is formulated for effectively cleansing and removing makeup without rubbing the skin. It also aids in leaving the skin cleansed, hydrated and nourished owing to the presence of aloe vera. However, there’s no ingredients list available on the product packaging so I may extend my research on the product before using it.

TGL’s Verdict:
This time, there are only four products in total but I loved the fact that almost all of them were either full-sized or premium sized products. Generally, samples end up at some corner of my house and when I retrieve them, they cross the expiry date. Therefore, I quite liked this month’s curation. Moreover, receiving a makeup product that I may think twice before buying because of budget constraints is a boon! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Total Worth of the Products: INR 1,734
Total Savings: INR 1,135 approximately

Sugar Ace of Face Foundation Stick in 25 Macchiato - Swatches & Review

Shedding away all my laziness ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
Here I am today, scribbling a blog post on one of my recent makeup purchases from the brand Sugar Cosmetics. In case you guys don’t know, I was awestruck by makeup hoarding addiction again and ended up buying more than what I initially intended. Although I had my eyes glued on their Smudge Me Not Lipstick in the shade Wine & Shine (Sangria), I also managed to pick up their much-hyped Ace of Face Foundation Stick! This particularly base product was first launched with 6 shades but now they have introduced 22 shades that will go absolutely well with almost all Indian skin tone. And no, that isn’t just a false claim like another well known Indian brand which we’ve seen since our childhood.
Let’s dive into the review without any digressions!

MamaEarth: Shampoo + Conditioner Review | Happy Heads & No More Tangles

Hi Guys, Welcome back to the Glistening Lane ✨
We all love our tresses! In order to sustain a healthy crown of hair, we keep on hunting for homemade DIY recipes or a shampoo that resolves the prolonged hair fall problem. Is it merely me who has been seeing a lot of hair fall since a year or two? I’ve altered my shampoo to figure out what is the actual cause for the same and it appears as if the inherent genes and my eating pattern is what causes a lot of shedding of hair. Recently, I tried the Mamaearth’s shampoo and conditioner duo which I believe was the part of their Anti-Hair Fall kit which is priced at INR 999. The kit intrigued me a lot and I’m glad I got to try out two products from that kit so that I don’t end up spending a thousand bucks. If you’re wondering how these products fared for me, stay tuned and keep on reading!

Exploring A World Within: Ethnic Outfit Ideas - OOTD - Monsoon Diaries

"Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself."
Hi Guys, Welcome back to the Glistening Lane ✨
When I started my journey as a blogger, I shied away from being captured in pictures. For some odd reason, I was always missing from school pictures, group pictures and a lot of other pictures. On top of that, my introvert personality stopped me from doing outfit posts on a regular basis. So until now, majority of my blog pictures revolved around flatlays and product photography. #ComfortZoneAtItsBest ๐Ÿ˜‚

In fact, my phone’s memory contains more pictures of flatlays than it has of me. This is also one of the reasons why my WhatsApp DP stays without a picture. P.s. no, I haven't blocked you ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Now that I feel that I’ve improved a lot in terms of my flatlay photography, I incurred a realization that aesthetics of picture touches a top notch when there’s human element incorporated. Not necessarily my face but probably my hand, hair …
