Welcome back
to the Glistening Lane ✨
Are you guys
excited about the unboxing of Fab Bag May 2018 Edition?
Without
wasting much time, I’d first dwell upon the fact that I love it when Fab
Bag shipment makes it to my door on the first day of the month! Would
that make you feel special in any manner? For me personally, it always feels
that my preferences are probably kept superior, that’s also why I get to choose
the products that I want. Thankfully, the stuff has never gone out of stock for
me, except for that one time wherein I had my eyes glued onto the Nelf USA’s
HD Primer. It was slightly disheartening but the quality of their HD
foundation made up for that pretty well.
So what’s
cooking for this month, you may ask?
This month,
the team of Fab Bag has gone all
quirky with their bag and I love the neon touch endowed to them. Apparently,
there are only two variants of the bag this month and the available colours are
hot pink and subtle yellow. Usually, I don’t prefer cliché colours like pink
but then yellow isn’t my colour either. I’m glad that I received the pink
pouch.
At the end
of the april month itself, I was stalking the Instagram account of Fab Bag so as to gain some insights/leaks concerning the products for the month of May so as to provide a little earlier info to you guys. When I got a glimpse of the
pouch, I wasn’t too excited about it. But when the pouch got into my hands on
01st May, 2018; I actually liked the design, material and print. Not
yet sure as to how I will be using it but it’s definitely one of those
accessories which can be termed as ‘conversation starters’.
Do you agree
with me?
The pouch has a snap fastener closure instead of the usual zip and the shape of the bag is somewhat like an envelope. The bag has numerous things drawn onto it via a black outline; you can probably notice things like some hearts, a compact mirror, candy, an animated girl, etc. Without more delays, let's jump right into the review!

Theme of the Month: The Beauty Project
Price: Rs. 599/ per month
Products In My May 2018 Fab Bag:
⏩Nelf USA Velvet Touch Creamy Matte
Lipstick (Full Size: Rs. 799)
It’s not the first time when I’ve tried Nelf products; in fact I’ve reviewed their Kiss-Proof Professional Liquid lipsticks on my blog earlier and you can check out that post HERE. For me personally, their lipsticks did not work miraculously but who says no to a lipstick, right? 😉 There were a lot of options to select from and I decided to pick the shade 10 – Hi Fi Pink.

Based on my assumption and the small thumbnail, I assumed it to be a sober everyday lipstick in soft brown with hues of pink into it. Unfortunately, it’s more towards violet undertone pink, if that makes sense. The texture of the lipstick is quite smooth and it glides pretty well. Eventually, it sets into a semi matte formulation and while gliding it’s not as soft as a creamy lipstick but not too hard like a proper matte lipstick bullet. You can probably assume it to have the qualities of a semi-matte Maybelline Colorshow lipstick.
⏩Nelf USA Professional Eyeliner (Full Size: Rs. 225)
In the month
of March, I received this eyeliner within my Fab Bag, in the shade ‘sizzling blue’. This time, the packaging
simply says ‘green’ and the shade is unlike other green eyeliner pencils
available in the market. One thing that I like about the packaging is its
rotating mechanism which makes application pretty hassle free. It gets really
inconvenient if an eyeliner pencil requires sharpening each time for a
precision application. Moreover, the sharpening tends to waste a lot of the
product.
Luckily, we have a sharpener attached at the back of the eyeliner which can be used if you prefer to create a perfect winged eyeliner look. I experiment with this eyeliner particularly on my eyelids for days when I want to experiment a little with my makeup as black eyeliner feels monotonous sometimes. In such a scenario, I line my upper lash line with black eyeliner and the colourful eyeliner pencil goes smoked out onto the lower lash line.
⏩Tjori Night Skin Repair Elixir (Full Size: Rs. 995)
Last month,
Glamego had sent Tjori Wild Turmeric Anti
Tan Treatment but unfortunately I had a bad experience concerning the same.
It could potentially be due to the other broken stuff that I received; but the
fragrance was quite repelling as such. To know more about it, click HERE.
Anyways,
about the Tjori Elixir, I love night treatments which help in supporting the
skin’s rejuvenation that takes place majorly at the night time. This elixir
serves the same purpose and it gets absorb into the skin really well. It has an
oily like formulation but without the disadvantages of oiliness. It
adds a really healthy glow to the skin when you wake up in the morning after
the application at the night time. If I am not wrong, the ingredient list
mentions no chemical added into the elixir, which a bonus point! Sadly, the
quantity at the price point is a bummer. In addition to this, the packaging
states using 1-2 drops but it has no dropper-like packaging which makes it hard
to keep a track of how much quantity is actually being used. Lastly, the label
has such a minute font that I can’t read it at all! I squint my eyes to read it
well and each time, I have to give up.
⏩Imiana House Rhoco 2in 1 Scrub & Mask (Rs. 300 for 2.5 grams)
Again, Imiana House is not a new brand for me.
I have used their whipped body butters and till date I love them to bits! They
have been reviewed on the blog some time back; you can check it out HERE.
I’ve been following this brand for a while and I did notice when they had launched this product. Skincare products with coffee are something which never fails to intrigue me. Also, the fact that it’s a 2-in-1 product makes it all the more efficient. I read the ingredient list and I could actually inhale the aroma of coffee. The base of this mask/scrub encompasses pure honey and I personally felt that there was no interplay of the chemical in the production of this product. The fragrance itself speaks about the authenticity of the product being devoid of chemicals. There are minute granules of coffee into the base which works well as a scrubbing agent. On the downside, the mask is really sticky and it sort of drips off each time I apply it on my face. But on the contrary, the honey makes it apt for people with sensitive and acne prone skin. I, being an oily skinned person, love how it makes my skin feel soft to touch.
I wish the quantity was slightly more than what I could see inside the jar, especially for its price point. Also, try DIYing your weekend masks with a dallop of honey and trust me the results will be immensely appealing!
⏩Blossom Kochhar Aroma Magic Sunblock Lotion SPF 30 PA++ (Rs. 75 for 20 ml)
Sample sized
product which I’d probably leave in some corner of my house; that too unnoticed
until it exceeds its expiry date. But for reviewing purposes, I tried some of
it and what I noticed is the fact that this sun-block leaves behind no
greasiness. Yet, it leaves faint traces of hydration which would possibly
appear only in case you have super dry hands like mine. The fragrance can only
be described as ‘herbal-y’ with a tinge of sweet undertones. Also, the Aroma Magic
sun-block lotion seeps into the skin quite quickly, without any additional
efforts. You can throw it into your work or college bag and apply whenever the
need arises.
If you are like me, your summers can never be over without bleach! I get tanned really fast, especially on my hands, feet, nose and forehead. It’s funny how my body is like a fruit salad with different skin tones that make me feel as if my hands and face have been mistakenly put together in a single body! Therefore, for getting rid of weird designs that the sun leave behind through the gaps of my sandals, I use a bleach to make them appear humanly normal. I’ve tried fem bleaches before but this variant is new for me.
