Winter Skincare Routine Using Biotique - Ayurveda Goodness

Hi Guys,
Welcome back to the Glistening Lane ✨

As soon as the cold current hits Delhi, I replace my matte products with some hydrating ones. Not only am I talking about my lipsticks but also my skincare range because this skin falls into the combination category. That is why; it takes a completely U-turn and starts to go flaky with the advent of winters. Unfortunately, there’s no weather that would bring a halt to my acne. If I’m not wrong I have tried one of the Biotique face wash too during my trip but that was a sample size bottle which was offered by the hotel staff. Recently, I did spot Biotique soaps on Instagram as well.

For me personally, Biotique is a long acquainted brand. When I was in second year of graduation, I had tried gazillion of products to treat my severe acne. Also the marks which were left after that attack; took ages to fade away. Some of them are still there as marks of glory but yeah much of it isn’t that visible until you scrutinize and observe. During that phase, I had found one miraculous product from the brand of Biotique. This product hands down, helped me a lot for spot rectification and even for calming down redness of some bumps. That product happens to be their Bio Myristica Spot Correcting Anti Acne Face Pack

As I told you earlier, my skin went all flaky plus super dry and I was on a hunt of some body lotion and face moisturizer to go underneath my foundation. Within this hunt, I ended up with four products from Biotique. What I love the most about this brand is the fact that their products are easily available and there’s a huge collection from which you can choose. I have tried a lot of Biotique products but I can always find some new intriguing product every time I visit the local drugstore. So without further adieu, let me introduce you to some of my Winter essentials with Biotique. Let’s Begin -

Bio Honey Gel Face Wash

Description - Bio Honey Gel is a hydrating foaming, 100% soap free gel. It is blended with pure honey and extracts from the bark of the arjun tree and wild turmeric. Dissolves makeup and impurities, softens skin and lightens the complexion.

To Use - Gently massage over wet face and neck with fingertips, lather and rinse; morning and evening.

Contains - Banhaldi Rhizome, Arjun Bark, Neem Bark, Ritha Fruit Pulp, Ananas Fruit, Madhu, Purified Water Q.S.

Price - 100 ML for Rs. 119/- and 150 ML for Rs. 179/-

My Experience:

I have a combination to oily skin type which becomes super oily in summers but I do see emergence of dry patches on my facial skin within winters. So as the transition period of fall hits Delhi, I switch my super drying products with some hydrating ones. When I saw the term ‘honey’ on the tube of this cleanser, I was pretty happy because now I can skip on a  moisturizer and still have no flaky seen. Flaky skin does tend to be aggravated after I apply makeup base/ foundation. Thanks to this cleanser, my skin after washing, feels supple and soft. Not that it makes my skin oily which a lot of cream based face washes do; but it leaves a subtle glow and natural moisturizers of the skin.

In case you don’t know, honey is good for treating acne or soothing redness caused due to them. Honey also helps to cater natural hydrating skin and you can easily mix it in your DIY mask days. The consistency of this face wash is gel like and fragrance is amazing as well. In colour, it is somewhat light orange to look. Plus the tube packaging makes everything simple, convenient and travel friendly. It doesn’t give break out; not that I don’t have any on my face currently but those are because of hormonal imbalance.

Bio Berberry Hydrating Cleanser

Description - This refreshing, non-foaming lotion is blended with berberry, fenugreek, lodhra bark and almond oil to dissolve makeup and grime. Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth.

To Use - Apply to cotton pads or washcloth and gently wipe over cleansed face and neck; morning and evening.

Contains - Indian Berberry Root, Lodhra Bark, Methi Seed, Almond Oil, Lotion Base Q.S.

Price - 120 ML for Rs. 175/-

My Experience:

I was never really a fan of cream based facial cleansers. So when I saw this, my initial assumption was that this is to be used like all usual face washes with water. The consistency of this is identical to our lotions which got me worried. But when I read the instructions on this, I realized it works more like a makeup remover product. The packaging states that this is to be applied over cleansed skin but I feel it works best if you use Bio Berberry Hydrating cleanser first to take off much of the makeup and then wash it off with the honey face wash. So after cleansing, I move to the next step of moisturizing. I sometimes switch between different moisturizers; sometimes gel based other times cream ones.

When I used this with a cotton pad, I did saw it took off a lot of makeup from my face but the waterproof ones were still intact. It took away foundation, lipstick and bronzer but possibly not the mascara or eyeliner completely. If you don’t happen to love oils for removing your makeup, you can go ahead and try this one. I don’t wanna splurge just for a product that takes off makeup so this is a good buy for me. Also, the fragrance of this is really refreshing and soothing.

Bio Morning Nectar Face Lotion

Description - Visibly Flawless Skin Moisturizer is a refreshing lotion that hydrates and nourishes skin. Reduce and prevents the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Keeps the skin flawlessly fresh, light and bright.

To Use - Apply evenly over cleansed face and neck; morning and night. For best results, apply after serum.

Contains - Gehun Seed, Kumari Leaf Pulp, Madhu, Badam Seed Oil, Kusumbhi Seed Oil, Purified Water Q.S.

Price - 120 ML for Rs. 199/-

My Experience:

This one has recently become my much picked product from the Biotique Winter Care range. Had it been summers, I would have completely ditched a moisturizer but for winters I love how this makes my skin look so alive, healthy and hydrated. I like to use it onto my damp face and it takes not much time to blend or get absorbed. The fragrance again is quite soothing and the consistency is not like lotions but usual facial moisturizers. If you don’t like subtle sheen or dewy look even for winters, you may skip this but I absolutely adore how it makes the winter skin look all better; plus the foundation glides on so perfectly after a layer of this.

It has by far worked like a miracle for me. I usually keep changing between this and my Himalaya’s Gel Based moisturizer. Biotique Bio Morning Nectar Face Lotion comes in a squeeze out cylindrical bottle which makes it travel friendly. It doesn’t feel sticky at all but yes the dewiness can be seen in real. My problem lies in that sticky feeling, so if that is absent, I’m up for such products! 😃

Bio Winter Cherry Body Lotion

Description - Supplies rejuvenating moisture and nourishment crucial to body health and vitality.

To Use - Massage onto damp body skin until completely absorbed; morning and night.

Contains - Surajmukhi Oil, Kusumbhi Tail, Sarson Tail, Badam Tail, Jatamanshi Root, Ashwagandha Root, Lotion Base Q.S.

Price - 190 ML for Rs. 180/-

My Experience -

I was pretty happy when I read that this body lotion helps in countering blemish issue. Although I haven’t tested this for long yet but any bonuses onto usual lotions is definitely what we all look forward to. The consistency of this lotion is really good and not runny at all. The lotion comes in a faint pink colour and I love how it leaves no stickiness afterwards. I have terribly dry limbs during winters; so much so that sometime it clearly looks like occurrence of draught in a land. I don’t like sticky feely which is why I’ve been guilty of applying no body lotion religiously.

Biotique Wintery Cherry Body Lotion suffices the skin’s hydration need but since mine is super dry; I do have to do like two layers of this lotion. This contains almond oil which is good for lightening pigmentation or scars. If this lotion also helps in de-pigmentation than this would be like an amazing affordable product! After application I do notice better and hydrated skin plus no stickiness left over because absorption is pretty fast with this.

My Cutesy Stash - Miniso Haul Unleash!

Hi Guys, Welcome back to the Glistening Lane ✨
Side Story - I intentionally changed the font of this blog post; reason as such is nothing but I decided to break-free from the monotonous font type. But unfortunately, the font decided to bug me later on so I ended up with the same comforting font.
In today's blog post, I will be sharing with you all my recent haul from the store of Miniso. For people who haven't encountered a Miniso outlet as of yet, Miniso is a well known Japanese brand which brings to you a lot of quirky and cute stuff which is reasonably priced and none of your money will go wasted, trust me! They have an amazing collection of utility products from the genre of beauty, kitchenware, stationery, electronics, accessories, etc. Moreover, the prices of these products start from INR 150 and the maximum, I believe, is around INR 1000, that too for PU bags.

Recently, I happen to discover another Miniso Delhi store which was mere 2 metro stations away from where I live.…

Jeju Volcanic Lava Self-Heating Clay Mask - Review

Hi Guys, Welcome back to the Glistening Lane ✨

Apparently, there are lots on skincare brands which are available internationally and I’m yet to try them out. Some of these brands, enclosed within my wish list include The Body Shop, The Faces Shop, Clinique, etc. Thankfully, Nykaa was running an offer on The Faces Shop skincare range wherein you could grab a full-sized freebie product. While I was surfing the catalogue, I encountered the “self-heating” mask which kept me intrigued enough to add it to my cart. I kid you not, there have been times when I’ve legit done window shopping online as well! 😃😄 I see trillion of things and later I’m like – “Do I really need this?”
And the mind always answers – “Of course not, girl!” 😂
A lot of the times, I force myself to hear the sensible talk of my mind. But sometimes, the heart takes over and it springs in joy to say “Woah! That’s too pristine to be denied”. This is exactly how I ended up purchasing Jeju Volcanic Lava Self-Heating Clay Mask

Things Bloggers Are Tired of Hearing!

Hi Guys, Welcome back to the Glistening Lane ✨
In my everyday life, I come across several people who have certain “prejudices” towards the blogging world. Ironically, half of the people who interact with me on an everyday life are unaware about my blogging life. And if the truth be told, I choose not to disclose it to any and every other person. No, I am not ashamed! Probably there’s some fun associated with weaving an image of a mysterious personality. But again, it’s also because people tend to link every behavioral trait with blogging. Say for instance, I don’t interact much with people and that’s only because I fall under the introvert personality; who knows that the next minute they’d assume “Oh, she isn’t very friendly because she’s too proud of her internet life”. My answer to them “Madame, I’m pretty much a child of a human world; internet is definitely not my only zone”.
Within this post, I’d share with you guys some of the weird questions that I’ve heard at least once in my th…
