What’s in my Makeup Kit: Back to College Edition

Hello girls,

Yesterday night, it rained here in Delhi. And this morning, I just wanna rush to take a bath as its gone back to being humid. Unfortunately, this weather is especially allotted to be the Back to College Season. For some of you, it’s gonna be exciting as schools were a metaphor of restrictions. School uniforms, no nail paint, strict regulations, etc. The other remaining, it’s again going to get all monotonous. I have begun to detest this semester as its comparatively longer and shifting classes plus travelling in this weather seriously melts away the beautiful you. My biggest concern is about wearing jeans in the morning post baths; I just don’t feel comfortable that way in summers; extra sensitive perhaps. *LOL*

Every girl is accompanied to college or work place along with her small vanity kit which confidently smirks and says “I got your back girl”. *WINK* Be it minimalistic, containing kajal and tinted lip balm or if you are while leaving off your doors like- “What if I end up meeting a friend post college hours and I can’t do just with a compact and I wanna pack this lip color, and this; oh how can I leave this one as well?

So without further adieu, let’s jump into the post and see what really can go down in there for creating a useful makeup kit. Also, it’s not necessary that you’d pack these all; you can simply recreate it as per your choice.

 BB/CC cream
Foundation is definitely not everyday thing for most of us and when you’ve got a heck lot of classes for the day; you’d rather spend few extra minutes to your precious sleep than apply moisturizer plus a foundation. BB creams with one go eliminate dryness and evens out the complexion. Fortunately, they blur out scars and you can leave off your face appear imperfect making it evident that you don’t wanna attend a wedding soon afterwards. hahaha
My pick- <Spawake BB Cream, Ponds BB cream or Garnier BB cream>

Compact powder
I’ve been to Delhi University and travelling within Metro or DTC busses gets you drenched into sweat before you’ve marched into the gates of the college. Compact powder removes shine and sweat of the face and makes it matte.
< Maybelline Clear Glow Compact or Superfresh White Compact>

Eyeliner/Kajal pencil
Kajal remains the first makeup item that we’ve delved into since our younger days. Twist up kajal/ eyeliner pencil can be used on the waterline as well as for tight lining the upper lid.
< Lotus ColorKick Kajal or Faces Magnetic Eyes Kajal>

Eyebrow Pencil
If you’ve got no time for accentuating your features via makeup then you can simply define your eyebrows as it helps in framing up the face.
<Maybelline Fashion Brow Duo>

Blush becomes a necessity for too pale girls as it adds on some colour to their face.
<Maybelline Cheeky Glow in ‘Creamy Cinnamon’>

Lipstick/ lip lacquer
Lipsticks are the coolest part about makeup. Look out for budget friendly lipsticks or lip lacquers and they can also be used as a blush. Summers are all about matte lip colors.
<Incolor Matte me, Miss Claire Soft Matte Cream or Elle 18 Matte lipsticks>

Sugar Ace of Face Foundation Stick in 25 Macchiato - Swatches & Review

Shedding away all my laziness 😂😂
Here I am today, scribbling a blog post on one of my recent makeup purchases from the brand Sugar Cosmetics. In case you guys don’t know, I was awestruck by makeup hoarding addiction again and ended up buying more than what I initially intended. Although I had my eyes glued on their Smudge Me Not Lipstick in the shade Wine & Shine (Sangria), I also managed to pick up their much-hyped Ace of Face Foundation Stick! This particularly base product was first launched with 6 shades but now they have introduced 22 shades that will go absolutely well with almost all Indian skin tone. And no, that isn’t just a false claim like another well known Indian brand which we’ve seen since our childhood.
Let’s dive into the review without any digressions!

MamaEarth: Shampoo + Conditioner Review | Happy Heads & No More Tangles

Hi Guys, Welcome back to the Glistening Lane ✨
We all love our tresses! In order to sustain a healthy crown of hair, we keep on hunting for homemade DIY recipes or a shampoo that resolves the prolonged hair fall problem. Is it merely me who has been seeing a lot of hair fall since a year or two? I’ve altered my shampoo to figure out what is the actual cause for the same and it appears as if the inherent genes and my eating pattern is what causes a lot of shedding of hair. Recently, I tried the Mamaearth’s shampoo and conditioner duo which I believe was the part of their Anti-Hair Fall kit which is priced at INR 999. The kit intrigued me a lot and I’m glad I got to try out two products from that kit so that I don’t end up spending a thousand bucks. If you’re wondering how these products fared for me, stay tuned and keep on reading!

Exploring A World Within: Ethnic Outfit Ideas - OOTD - Monsoon Diaries

"Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself."
Hi Guys, Welcome back to the Glistening Lane ✨
When I started my journey as a blogger, I shied away from being captured in pictures. For some odd reason, I was always missing from school pictures, group pictures and a lot of other pictures. On top of that, my introvert personality stopped me from doing outfit posts on a regular basis. So until now, majority of my blog pictures revolved around flatlays and product photography. #ComfortZoneAtItsBest 😂

In fact, my phone’s memory contains more pictures of flatlays than it has of me. This is also one of the reasons why my WhatsApp DP stays without a picture. P.s. no, I haven't blocked you 🙈

Now that I feel that I’ve improved a lot in terms of my flatlay photography, I incurred a realization that aesthetics of picture touches a top notch when there’s human element incorporated. Not necessarily my face but probably my hand, hair …
