Tips for Retaining Volume in Thin Hair

Hello people,

I’ve got thin hair and the natural texture usually varies from straight to wavy. With high amounts of chemical in every content, plus degrading water quality, I’ve always heard people around me talk about their once luscious tresses and how they’ve been affected due to various factors. This post will cater to people whose major concern is thinning hair and how to sustain slight volume into it. I shall be sharing few tips that I’ve come across and would like to share it with you. So, without further blabbering, let’s begin.

1.     Swear by this that you’d never incorporate moisturizing or conditioning shampoo in your hair care routine. Conditioners would weigh down your hair and devoid you of oomph you get post hair wash. In summers, avoid conditioners. The natural oil from your scalp will definitely be visible on first or second day of hair wash, especially in places such as Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata.

 2.     Do not sleep on your hair tied in low pony or open hair, especially damp or wet hair. This is gonna sleek down your hair against your head which is definitely not what we intend to attain here.

 3.     Instead, tie your hair in a high bun. This will lift your hair roots in upward direction while you sleep, so that the next day when you open them, they will have more volume and slight texture due to hair bun.

 4. Use naturally curling means to provide texture to your hair.

 5.    Use baby powder or dry shampoo for removing grease from scalp. Not only does it hide away your “Dirty Little Secret” as stated in BBlunt’s Dry Shampoo song, but also provide slight volume to your crown portion.

 6.    If you’ve got a combination of thin and straight hair, then avoid hair straightening irons. Provide life to your tresses by scrunching or curling your hair.

 7.    Keep scrunching products in your vanity because they are ideally meant for your hair. I personally use-
Tony & Guys Sea Salt Texturizing Spray, reviewed here-
& BBlunt High Definition Curl Defining Leave-in Cream, reviewed here

 8. If your pony-tail is too thin then ditch those for messy buns.

 9.   Tease your hair well if you intend to tie it.

10.  Lastly, never compare yourself or your hair with others’. Be happy with what you’ve blessed. Obsessively worrying about anything is never gonna better things but perhaps might negatively affect you.

Remember, you are beautiful the way you are. Your imperfections provide you with an individuality which segregates you from being like everyone else. Beautiful heart and smile is all it takes to make a person’s day.

Love,
Bhawna D.

Sugar Ace of Face Foundation Stick in 25 Macchiato - Swatches & Review

Shedding away all my laziness 😂😂
Here I am today, scribbling a blog post on one of my recent makeup purchases from the brand Sugar Cosmetics. In case you guys don’t know, I was awestruck by makeup hoarding addiction again and ended up buying more than what I initially intended. Although I had my eyes glued on their Smudge Me Not Lipstick in the shade Wine & Shine (Sangria), I also managed to pick up their much-hyped Ace of Face Foundation Stick! This particularly base product was first launched with 6 shades but now they have introduced 22 shades that will go absolutely well with almost all Indian skin tone. And no, that isn’t just a false claim like another well known Indian brand which we’ve seen since our childhood.
Let’s dive into the review without any digressions!

MamaEarth: Shampoo + Conditioner Review | Happy Heads & No More Tangles

Hi Guys, Welcome back to the Glistening Lane ✨
We all love our tresses! In order to sustain a healthy crown of hair, we keep on hunting for homemade DIY recipes or a shampoo that resolves the prolonged hair fall problem. Is it merely me who has been seeing a lot of hair fall since a year or two? I’ve altered my shampoo to figure out what is the actual cause for the same and it appears as if the inherent genes and my eating pattern is what causes a lot of shedding of hair. Recently, I tried the Mamaearth’s shampoo and conditioner duo which I believe was the part of their Anti-Hair Fall kit which is priced at INR 999. The kit intrigued me a lot and I’m glad I got to try out two products from that kit so that I don’t end up spending a thousand bucks. If you’re wondering how these products fared for me, stay tuned and keep on reading!

Exploring A World Within: Ethnic Outfit Ideas - OOTD - Monsoon Diaries

"Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself."
Hi Guys, Welcome back to the Glistening Lane ✨
When I started my journey as a blogger, I shied away from being captured in pictures. For some odd reason, I was always missing from school pictures, group pictures and a lot of other pictures. On top of that, my introvert personality stopped me from doing outfit posts on a regular basis. So until now, majority of my blog pictures revolved around flatlays and product photography. #ComfortZoneAtItsBest 😂

In fact, my phone’s memory contains more pictures of flatlays than it has of me. This is also one of the reasons why my WhatsApp DP stays without a picture. P.s. no, I haven't blocked you 🙈

Now that I feel that I’ve improved a lot in terms of my flatlay photography, I incurred a realization that aesthetics of picture touches a top notch when there’s human element incorporated. Not necessarily my face but probably my hand, hair …
