Exploring A World Within: Ethnic Outfit Ideas - OOTD - Monsoon Diaries

"Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself."

Hi Guys,
Welcome back to the Glistening Lane ✨

When I started my journey as a blogger, I shied away from being captured in pictures. For some odd reason, I was always missing from school pictures, group pictures and a lot of other pictures. On top of that, my introvert personality stopped me from doing outfit posts on a regular basis. So until now, majority of my blog pictures revolved around flatlays and product photography. #ComfortZoneAtItsBest 😂

In fact, my phone’s memory contains more pictures of flatlays than it has of me. This is also one of the reasons why my WhatsApp DP stays without a picture. P.s. no, I haven't blocked you 🙈

Now that I feel that I’ve improved a lot in terms of my flatlay photography, I incurred a realization that aesthetics of picture touches a top notch when there’s human element incorporated. Not necessarily my face but probably my hand, hair or feet. Deep down, I was aware of the fact that it’s also because of my awkwardness in terms of how I look. Let's admit the truth, I nowhere fall into a skinny zone. Moreover, my cervical tends to make my neck appear swollen.

Call it a transition in terms of my wisdom (maybe because I’ve fled my teenage years), currently I feel more confident about how I look. Flawless appears cliché to me at present, as if its completely un-relatable to me or the wide audience hovering over the Internet. We've already developed insecurities looking at people's instagram pictures and that isn't pleasant at all. However, we forget the fact that real people are born with their own flaws, circumstances, ideas and mistakes. Moreover, people (who tend to judge and do autopsy of an image) need to keep this in their minds that I’m not a model. But a mere creative soul seeking ways to vent her creativity. Also, I’m blogging different looks and outfit ideas because I have a passion for the same. Somewhere within our hearts, we tend to appreciate people’s efforts atleast at some point of time. So why go indifferent in my case?

Lately, I’ve fell in love with an ethnic look which incorporates some bohemian danglers or big jhumkis. For my outfit, I’ve worn this navy blue kurta/gown which cinches right below the bosom. It has big floral patterns and I was gifted this by my sister. Also, the cotton fabric of this kurta/gown makes it a perfect outfit for humid days of monsoon! 🌧
